HAMPSHIRE CONNECTIONS EVENT
We had a fantastic evening on 1 October at the Business Scene Hampshire Connections Event at Lakeside in Portsmouth. We met a lot of new people and had a really good night. Keep an eye open for the next one in early 2010. Thank you to everyone who entered our business card prize draw, the winner was Lance Terry from Glanvilles LLP and we look forward to welcoming to AQ Networking for business in November.
DORSET CONNECTIONS EVENT
We had an equally great evening in Poole on 21 October where it was good to see familiar faces as well as make new connections. As with the Hampshire Connections event we also had the opportunity to hear Warren Cass talk about using social media to enhance networking opportunities and to generate business. Thank you to everyone who entered our business card prize draw. The winner was Paul Bellard of Flying High Performance Coaching who will be including his literature in our goody bag on 4 December 2009.
THE NEWS BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The News is running it's annual business excellence awards. The application window was opened on July 30 and is set to close on Friday, November 13. Free to apply, the awards are now in their eighth year.
They cover eight categories in which businesses can enter, ranging from Business of the Year for overall success to Innovation of the Year for keen lateral-thinkers.
A ninth category, the Lifetime Achievement Award, is the sole one in which entrants cannot apply. It is open for nomination only.
Businesses are being urged not to leave applications to the last minute. The awards are open to companies with headquarters in Portsmouth, Fareham, Waterlooville, Havant, Chichester, Hayling Island, Petersfield and Gosport, as well as in surrounding rural areas. To apply go here.
